Molly Huddle, who placed fifth in the USA Cross Country Championships in San Diego on February 16 and was third in 26:07 in the Women’s Invitational 8K at the Central Park Challenge in New York on March 15, will compete for the U.S. at the World Cross Country Championships in Edinburgh, Scotland on March 30. While at Notre Dame, Huddle was a four-time Big East 5000-meter champion outdoors and doubled with conference 10,000-meter titles twice. She was second once and third twice in the 5000 at the NCAA Championships. She set her 5000-meter best of 15:17.13 last summer in Belgium. Originally from Elmira, New York, Huddle was the National Scholastic two-mile champion in 2002 and the USA Junior 3000-meter champ in 2003. Huddle, 23, is now part of the Run Providence group coached by Ray Treacy.
