INDIANAPOLIS - 2008 NCAA DII Cross Country champion Scott Bauhs has been named USA Track & Field's Athlete of the Week after winning the Synaptics Elite Athlete 5 km Thursday in San Jose, Calif. In his first race as a professional, Bauhs tied the course record, covering the 5 km course in 13 minutes 37 seconds. It is the fastest time by an American for 5 km on the road this year.
