SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP)—Floyd Landis still plans to ride in the Tour of California after crashing his bike during a training run Thursday. The former Tour de France champion is headed into his first race back from a two-year doping ban. Landis’ crash was announced by Tour of California officials moments before he was due to appear at a news conference promoting the race, which begins with a prologue Saturday in downtown Sacramento. Is it just me, or does the skinsuit that the U.S. women's cyclocross team wore at the World Championships look like it was designed by the Iranians? Red, white and ... black? Where's the blue? On the bib number? Geez. For crying out loud, you would not have known these were folks racing for the good ol' U.S. of A unless the side of the skinsuit said "USA" on it. Compare this to the one of Katie Compton back in 2006, wearing the colors while racing for the USA. I really think they could have done ... (more)

A forecast calling for drizzle and cloud cover couldn’t scare away the 60 or so bike riders who showed up to the Holiday Inn in Temecula to ride with Floyd Landis and the 11 other members of the OUCH-Maxxis professional cycling team. The two-hour spin through nearby Fallbrook came at the beginning of the week long OUCH training camp, and the team organization opened it up to sponsors, media and the public. (more)
