Optimal Training: Project 30 and Professional Runners
Doug Logan, CEO of USATF, commissioned a group of nine people to analyze the current USATF system and recommend changes, with the primary goal of the US earning 30 medals at the London Games in 2012.  I'll write more about the report soon, but the first aspect of it that caught my eye was its reference to athletes' needs to be "more professional" and for the USATF to help set up a "professional athletes' union".  My recent article at Runnerstribe dives into this a little more:There is certainly some me...
