Following rumors circulating that Alberto Contador may change teams for 2010, his current Astana team reconfirmed that the two-time Tour de France winner would stay on its roster for next season. Robbie McEwen is ready to start his comeback from a serious leg injury and his main goal is to beat fellow sprinter Mark Cavendish. The Australian, who rides for Team Katusha, will start his season again with the Eneco Tour, through the Netherlands and Belgium this week. McEwen hit a street sign in the second stage of the Tour of Belgium the end of May, shattering his leg and tearing ligaments. He still has two screws in his left knee. (more)

Tyler Farrar took the biggest win of his career at the Vattenfall Cyclassics on Saturday. After being close to a win on so many occasions this season, the American won the race with a powerful sprint finish in the centre of Hamburg, Germany. Garmin-Slipstream's Farrar finished ahead of Saxo Bank's Matti Breschel and German Gerald Ciolek (Milram) at the end of the 216km race. (more)

It was an ugly scene when Team Saxo Bank locomotive, Jens Voigt, hit the asphalt on a descent during the Tour de France with 80 km/h. It was a painful loss for the course witnessing an always colorful figure and not least an important and loyal help to Andy and Fränk Schleck abandon the race due to a crash that made cycling fans worldwide hold their breath. The GP Citta di Felino was the site of a tragedy on Tuesday after a Ukrainian rider died following an apparently innocuous crash. Oleksandr Shapoval of the Promociclo Neri Sottoli team crashed during the race, but was conscious when he was taken to the hospital in Parma. His condition worsened after he was admitted, and race organisers received news later that the 19-year-old had died. (more)
